Privacy Policy for Matrixster (matrixster.co.uk)

About this site
This is a personal website run by me. I’ve kept things simple on purpose — no tracking, no ads, and no unnecessary data collection.
If you ever have questions, you can reach me at: admin@matrixster.co.uk
What data is collected
Basic visit information
Like most websites, some basic technical information is collected automatically when you visit, such as:
- Your IP address
- Your browser type
- Pages you visit
This is only used for a very simple visitor counter and basic security. I’m not trying to track you personally.
Comments and guestbook
If you leave a comment or sign the guestbook:
- You can use any name you like (it doesn’t have to be real)
- Your message is stored and displayed on the site
- Your IP address is recorded behind the scenes to help prevent spam
There are no accounts, no profiles, and no hidden data collection.
Cookies
This site does not use third-party cookies or tracking cookies.
Some strictly necessary cookies may be used for security (for example, to stop bots), but nothing is used for advertising or tracking you across sites.
Things I use to keep the site running
To keep the site usable and spam-free, I use a couple of services:
- Cloudflare Turnstile — helps make sure forms aren’t being abused by bots
- Akismet — helps filter out spam comments
These may briefly process technical data like your IP address or browser info, but only for security and spam prevention.
Why any of this data is used
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), the small amount of data collected is used because:
- It’s necessary to keep the site working properly
- It helps prevent spam and abuse
- You’ve chosen to submit information (like a comment)
That’s it — no marketing, no profiling.
How long things are kept
- Comments and guestbook entries stay up unless I remove them
- Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for basic maintenance and security
Your rights
You have rights under UK GDPR, including:
- Asking what data I have about you
- Requesting corrections or deletion
If you want something removed or have any concerns, just email me:
admin@matrixster.co.uk
Security
I take reasonable steps to keep things secure, but this is a personal site — so the approach is simple: collect as little data as possible in the first place.
Changes
If anything changes, I’ll update this page.
In short:
I don’t track you, I don’t sell data, and I only collect the bare minimum needed to keep the site running and spam-free.
